Solution for female circumcision you said, well its beter to say Solution for Hirsi Ali, coz I as Somali not circumcised see this insult to my mum and all those female whom are circumcised(in egypte, sudan, somali etc)this sisters do not deserve this kind of insult,(first it was the Profeet(pbuh) and now their Circimcision) the one who u refering to that wicked women Hirsi, you could say solution for her, indeed let us not compare all to a one wicked tramatised women. Hello. Your website is thankfully bringing balance back to the offensive cartoon issue. I am a non-religious 7th generation Anglo-Australian living in Sydney. In the last 2 days I have seen a number of (non-illustrated)responses to our Islamic brothers criticisms, on T-Shirts. The 3 most poignant that I photographed say:
*"$AUD300 million for Islamic cold-steel". Reference to the Australian Gov't Wheat scandal.
*"My respect for Islam is Humbling me Beyound my Comfort Zone - Please Lay-Off with the Hate." The owner told me he cannot respect harm done to others in his country in the name of religion.
*The 3rd shirt I saw was worn by 3 friends. Their shirts had a large red love heart on the front, and were "made by 'Leggie." "In a concilliatory gesture to young Asian Islamic women, law abiding Aussie men would like to point out that many of you are VERY ATTRACTIVE, make very good mothers, and you may be under-valued by your brothers friends. WE (love heart symbol) YOU!" These men appeared to be sincere, and stated that if their (lack of) religion was not a problem, they would love to have an Islamic girlfriend and build bridges with the culture.
It struck me that that these young people were well educated, were engaging in debate, and that they were all of military age.
If everyone 'takes-up-arms' about religious insults, and blames whole countries for the affront, we will have World War 3, and non-religious law-abiding people will be forced to take a side.
Thankyou for the forum, and congratulations Palestine on your recent general elections.

Assalamu'alaikum

Much thanks for showing the world that we Muslims are not better than they are. I'm sure the Prophet (pbuh) would be proud.

Wassalaam

I don't see the point in this cartoon -does the cartoonist support female circumcision or just thinks it's petty to complain about such 'minor' (sarcasm) issues? I'm an agnostic european but do feel bad for those who have had to undergo this debilitating procedure. Despite finding this distasteful: you DO have the right to say the above. I just don't believe in inciting violence. If you would tell people to go and mutilate women that's where I draw the line. Of course, with such freedoms there are bound to be cases where people get offended. I understand the concern a couple of the Danish cartoons raised and maybe they could've found other ways to bring their point across but the point wasn't to offend muslims but rather to use a typical tactic to nudge people into the local debate. Christianity is lampooned continuously in our secular part of the world so I don't believe they were totally unfair. Well, muslims certainly have the right to their opinion as well and this is one way to do just that!

Correction: Muslims find lampooning of Christ/ Moses etc. just as offensive, they are our prophets as well.
